Marina Sirtis is an actress born in London, UK, in 1955 (29 March 1955). Sirtis is best known for her role as Counselor Deanna Troi on the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation and the four feature films that followed, as well as other appearances in the Star Trek franchise.

Marina Sirtis was born in Hackney, London, on 29 March 1955 the daughter of working-class Greek parents, Despina and John Sirtis. She was brought up in Harringay, North London, and she’s an avid Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Sirtis secretly auditioned for drama school against her parents’ wishes when she was still in secondary school, and she was ultimately accepted to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Sirtis immigrated to the United States in 1986, settling in Los Angeles to boost her acting career and find better acting roles. She later became a naturalized US citizen.
